How ClearProviders works
We collect published cash prices, label what each one includes, and put them side by side so you can compare.
1. Search what you need
Type a service in plain words ("knee MRI", "teeth cleaning", "blood work") and your ZIP or city. You don't need an account or insurance details.
2. Compare like with like
Hospitals, clinics, labs and imaging centers price care differently. A hospital's price for a billing code is often only the facility charge, while an imaging center may quote one all-in price. Each price has a label:
- All-in the price covers everything usually needed for the service.
- Scan only or Facility fee only: the doctor's or radiologist's fee is billed separately.
- Read only or Doctor fee only: only the professional part.
- Ask what's included: the source doesn't say. Ask before you book.
- Confirmed by provider: the provider entered or confirmed the price on ClearProviders.
For common bundles, like an MRI plus the radiologist's read, the Total price card adds the parts up, so you can compare totals. If a hospital doesn't publish one part, we add the typical published amount for it and mark the total as estimated.
3. Check the source, then book
Every price links to where we found it and shows when we last checked. Prices change, so call the provider, ask for the cash (self-pay) price and confirm what it includes. If you're paying cash, you can ask for a written Good Faith Estimate.
Is it free?
Yes. Searching is free and we don't sell your data. We don't take money from providers to rank them higher: results are sorted by price and distance.
