Where our prices come from
Every price on ClearProviders is a published cash price with a link to its source.
Hospital price files
Federal price transparency rules require US hospitals to publish their standard charges, including the discounted cash price, in machine-readable files. We read 5,253 hospitals' files and match each price to its billing code (CPT, HCPCS or DRG).
Provider websites
Many clinics, imaging centers, labs, dentists and direct primary care practices post their self-pay prices on their own websites. We collect those prices and the conditions that come with them, such as "new patients only" or "members only".
Booking sites and lab stores
Some prices come from sites where you can buy or book care at a set price, such as MDsave, Sesame and online lab stores. These are usually all-in package prices.
Providers themselves
Providers can claim their page and confirm or update their prices. Those prices are labelled "Confirmed by provider".
How fresh are prices?
We refresh the data twice a week. Each price shows the month we last checked it. The current data set was built on November 1, 2026.
What we don't include
We don't show insurance-negotiated rates, reviews, star ratings, photos or opening hours, and we never publish an individual clinician's home address.
Locations and maps
Locations are shown at city level for now. Distances are measured between city centers using US Census data.
